Group Show at Avenue Art Gallery in Montreal

Here is the news for today in my art life!

I just got accepted to the Second Brush Off Competition at the Avenue Art Gallery (http://www.avenueart.ca/)in Montreal. This is a nice contemporary gallery in the old part of Montreal. They took the three paintings that I submitted from the Nautical Series. I am very happy to be able to show some of my artwork there for the month of June. The Opening is going to be the 16th of June but with my busy life here I won't be able to attend the Opening, hard to do it all! The Gallery is situated at 10 rue King St in Old Montreal.

Life as an artist is not only about painting, it is also about administration work as well as applying for shows and galleries! Still,I am painting for my show in Switzerland, over 50 paintings are done so far. I need a minimum of 40, so I am doing fine and basically OK and on schedule. Soon I will show you some of my paintings for that. As you can see it`s a very exciting time for me this Spring - much better than the weather around here in Vancouver!!!

Kunst ArtSuperMarkt 2011-Contemporary Art show in Switzerland

This is great news! I have been accepted in an Art Show happening next November to January in Soleure in Switzerland. This is a contemporary Art Supermarket Show around 70 artists are going to exhibit. In the result of that, we are planning to go to CH this Summer, meet Peter-Lucas, the organizator, and bring my paintings. Each artist has to show 40 paintings, all fairly small, 24x24 inches being the biggest. The only requierment for that show was to present 4 different sizes one for aech price category. This is going to be a great opportunaty to meet new artists. Also I will have the chance to invite my Swiss connections, family and friends and show them what I do. I am very excited!
I decided to paint big, on paper, cut part of the paintings and glue the paper on canvas. I love the process this is great for composition and the result looks surprising. I will show you some of the paintings I finished already. i hope you enjoy it! Please feel free to make comments.
I will show more paintings later as I progress....
