One painting in an ebook....

Wow! This is an amazing day!

I just received the announcement that the Art ebook that I am in is now published. You can see it by clicking on this link. A-Walk-into-Abstracts. You can also purchase it in an ebook version for now!

That's pretty nice to be part of an Abstract book for me. There are 32 artists represented in it. In the book you will read the development of each piece of art, the way they were created and explained by each artist.

New Post

Hello,

Yes, I am still here, despite a very long pause between blog postings. I have been painting up a storm getting ready for three shows in Switzerland as well as other activities here (such as the North Shore Art Crawl).

Two of my Swiss shows will be in June 2013

The first one will be at the Galerie Duo in Sion. Danièle Salamin, the gallery owner, chose the West Coast and the Okanagan Series to exhibit.

The other exhibit that I am getting ready for is the Kunst Supermarkt in Soleure, Swizerland.

I am bringing close to 60 paintings for that show and will paint more in Swizerland as well.

The show will be from November 8 2013 to January 5 2014

This is going to be my third Art Sale in that show, the format is the same as other years. I will have 4 different sizes at 4 different prices.

As you can see I keep busy without counting all the other shows and activities that I have here in Vancouver.

In March the 5enses had a show at Delayne's Coffee shop.

In April I opened my studio and participated in the Art Crawl with Ronna Anders and Druh Ireland.

Kunst Supermarkt 2012

Hello Friends and art lover!

This coming Thursday on the 8th of November the Kunstsupermarkt in Soleure Switzerland is opening they doors for two months, until January 6th 2013.

This weekend I am going to Seattle to see the show ELLES at the Seattle Art Museum to see an art collection from the Pompidou Art Museum from Paris, only women artists.

International Artist Day

About International Artist Day

October 25th is International Artists Day.

Artists are a much ignored group although almost anything you use day to day has an artistic design at its root. Throughout history art has been the most important defining characterization of a culture or people. Art survives personalities, dynasties, movements and civilizations. Artists are pioneers and are usually at the forefront of changing times and events.

Where does the inspiration for art come from?

The day chosen to honor artists worldwide is October 25th, Picassos' birthday.

Why this artist and not another was more a matter recent contribution. Picasso was instrumental in bringing art to the masses more than any other artist up to that time. He is the iconic artist personified. Now more than ever it is important to focus on art and culture. Mainstream television, globalization and the internet are wiring everyone up to the lowest common denominator. By giving our attention to artists, we have the opportunity for one day to focus on what is eternal and timeless in our civilization.
